When I moved here in 1996, it was the repurposing of older buildings that made me fall in love with the city. I was impressed that Kansas City had found a way to reflect a visible effort toward future growth without compromising the architecture of its colorful and unique history.

I agree, and yet we've lost so much. That's why it hurts me to see architecturally interesting (if not significant) buildings be threatened.
