Running late with the cartoon this week, thanks in part to exciting news that I’ll share with you tomorrow with “In The Loop”.
In the meantime, I’m hoping recent maneuverings at City Hall force the owner of the historic buildings at 31st and Main—PriceMgmtCo or whomever may ultimately develop the spot—to preserve our Kansas City history and incorporate these gems into a larger plan. Of course, we know how vanilla many of these new-builds look, so it may be the perfect neutral backdrop for the Jeserich Building and other unique structures on this Midtown corner.

They don't build ’em like they used to
When I moved here in 1996, it was the repurposing of older buildings that made me fall in love with the city. I was impressed that Kansas City had found a way to reflect a visible effort toward future growth without compromising the architecture of its colorful and unique history.
