Yeah, some days were better than others w/ Folgers, but on a good day—mmmm. I swear I used to occasionally smell funnel cakes Downtown, but haven't experienced that for years. Walking along Fifth Street between Grand and Delaware today usually offers a variety of enticing culinary aromas.
Alas...I was only able to experience the burnt coffee smell from my loft on 8th Street back in 1989. I left town before the scents began improving!

On a really bad day the Folgers aroma would join with the scent of the NKC sewage treatment plant.
Yep. I swear, I don't smell NKC any more, but others say I'm wrong.
We always rolled our windows down when driving by the Folgers's plant in its heyday.
